Like all new Legend cars my son's came white, he wanted it paint red so I broke out the spray gun and went too town. It's a 1934 Chevy SS ;D, paint is MF red....post up what you got.

This is a picture of the '37 Chevy sedan that my son and I are campaigning in 2007. My son is building our engines and has done a couple for some of our competitors as well. I wish we had as good a handle on the chassis as we do motors. ;)

That was the first race day with the car -- The rear end was a bit off. The body; however; isn't really mouted that well (as it looks like it was hurried) so it is throwing it off too.

Thanks Steve. I'll be sure to send in update pics when I've got my own colours on it. I've got a buddy that does graphic design and web page design work for a living that wants to help out with the paint scheme. I had to tell him not his favourite colour combo of yellow, orange and red...
I'm edging towards an aqua with yellow accents and something....

Here are a couple pics of the new car. I'm already in the process of de-stickering and pulling the thing apart. The body needs some fiberglass touch up and paint, but the chassis is all setup and ready to go, except for the fuel cell.

Here is my ride. My main sponsor (and former employer) is Land O Lakes Milk. We have plastic bottles of milk called "Grip 'n Go". I painted my car in the Grip 'n Go colors with the front end white to try to look like it has milk splashing back off the front end. I would have liked to have someone do some air brushing to give it a better effect, but decided "it's a race car", and figured it would be beat all to hell soon so didn't want to spend the extra bucks.

I do all of my own vinyl so thats what I was going to do. I painted the car in 3 days between my first and second race. I just want more color so that its easier to see at night on the dirt.

He CAN'T do flames...the top guy who races with us wrapped his entire car in "real flame"...anything else, in my opinion would suffer in comparison. Of course who am I to talk with the purple and lime green ::)

Unfortunately we do not have Legends championship in Greece.
My Legend is first car here . I ran in clubs race with difference other cars (Caterham etc.)
It was the first race for my legend. I made record of track ;D

Hey everybody,
Its been 2 months and I finally got the energy up to pull the rest of the body off and check for any hidden damage-I don't see any cracks or anything in the cage whatsoever, things actually look better with the body remnants off. :)
Still can't afford to fix at this point since nobodys buying any houses right now, but at least the future looks good! Still thinking about just buying another used car and then I can fix this one as things get going in spring.Figure parts alone will be in the $3-4k range, and we still dont know if the motors any good! Oh well, everyone have a great off-season, and lets see who can top the lime green and metallic purple color combo next year!!!

A victory for me is being able to roll it on the trailer at the end of the night, feel like I improved either in the driving or set-up department, and sneaking into my kids rooms and kissing them goodnight when I get home.
I actually do set goals, they're on the wall at the office and in my office at home. 2 heat wins and 10 A-main top 10s for the season...have 1 of the top 10s so far...I guess we'll see how it goes from here on out :)

We have Shakedown Day the Feb 27th here at Carolina Speedway. First race is March 19th. So were pretty much ready to go. First season running legends so I'm bout to itch to death. lol We are sponsored by LJ Dezigns. A custom screen printing apparel company that I own. Bought it just outside of Chicago near the middle of last season threw the nonsence graghics over the pink... too busy at the shop to finish my own motor and race it. Plagued with colon cancer hit the skids on racing too. Super busy at my shop this winter, sick of the colon variety all winter and now relocating my shop for the past 3 weeks has kept me from shooting the body my charcoal and silver colors like my old sedan

PINK is a different color but i like the checkered flag it looks cool

It was a waving checkered flag when I found the image. The orange, yellow and blue stripes were actually white, gray and black signifying the air of the flags wave direction. They were bigger than the checkered flag. I stretched the image to fit the coupe and laid it out in vynil. The coloring looked better on the computer program than it does on the car. One of these nights I'm going to break out the airbrush and change the orange, yellow and blue back to gray white and black. (http://thegimpster.com/stripe10.JPG)

There sure are some niice cars out there and I have enjoyed looking at all of the ones posted here!
I thought I would share mine and the story behind it.
I just started racing in August of 2009, flipped my car during the last race in November 2009 and decided to start again from the ground up. My sponser wanted to do something "different" and that was a showcase for thier capabilities.
I came up with a bandana print idea and the resultas are below. I also suggested replacing the corner paisley print of the bandana pattern with my sponsors logo. It really came out wild as you can see. All in all there is about 200 hours in the paint alone. Yes, it is 100% paint!!
The graphics are all reflective with the numbers done in Mirror Ball. The car was featured in the April issue of Speedway Illustrated.

Thanks! There are 4 coats of clear on the main body itself but the fenders were done in single stage. First race I got hit and tweaked the rear fender. Black duct tape worked fine. Since my sponser is the shop that painted it i just took it off and took it to him. He fixed it and painted it again. The problem is if anything ever happens to the main body.......I'm pretty much hosed

Our 2010 ride is a '37 Chevy Coupe, which has a hardly raced Hank Scott motor in it. The car is fresh, having been rebuilt recently, but a lack of new tires is the problem in the UK. We desperately want new cut tires and new wet weather tires. We are expecting the container end of next month, fingers crossed!

We have just secured our 4th sponsors for season, which is more than we have ever managed to get in 12 years of racing. OK its only worth about $2,000 but goes a long way towards our 6,000 miles of travelling this year, with gas prices at record levels in the UK.

I just got the car and havent even got to shake it down yet. Ive never run legends before but am looking forward to it!!! I am attempting to get some sponsorship help for the legend million but Caraway Speedway runs em and August 6th I will run the "MADHOUSE" Bowman Gray Stadium. I'll keep you informed on how well or terible it goes. Also what can I expect to spend on a given night of racing?

Being an anal ;D engineer I track all of our costs and we spend anyware from $95-$150 on a given night (assuming no wrecks) this includes gas money to get to and from the track, gas for the racecar and pit access for me and my wife. The biggest cost for me is getting to the track (most of my tracks are 1.5-2.5 hours away). Most pit passes are in the $25-$30 range per person. The car doesn't use much gas. Plus my wife makes us sandwiches and packs snacks so we don't have to buy track food.
I also keep track of my amortized costs for things such as depreciation on my trailer, to vehicle, racecar chassis and engine. This amounts to about another $100 or so per race. But these aren't realized costs until you need to replace the item.

Steve. I've only raced 5 times this year cause I'm just having fun but ran 3 my first race at Irwindale then I ran Stockton 4th and Irwindale the other 3. 3rd 4th 2nd. So running good just need to find a bit more. Gosh I really love legend cars tho. Starting a rental program next year. Hoping that works out. Lol.

I think I am about one week away from having the car ready (at least ready to start, scale and set-up).
I completely rebuilt the car this year. new front/rear clips, new yearend, engine rebuilt and a new paint job and a new number.
With me trying to make my first race around March 19th and still needing to work on my newly purchased (1992 model) trailer I have to keep cracking the whip.
I have been taking pictures and videos the entire time and documenting it on our Facebook page and Youtube Channel (you don’t need to sign up for either service to look at my pages).

Not much of an update as far as building the car is concerned, but put my vinyl on my doors today. Really like how they turned out, they really stand out in person. Hard to get a picture of them with the lights / camera flash. The white around the # is still some vinyl i need to peel off so just ignore that and the fact that the picture is blurry..

Yes, Kevin is so happy with how that turned out. Metal flake on the black fenders. I liked the regular glossy black better, but *I* am not complaining. I think he did a mahvelous job of painting.

im new on here but here a photo of my car for the 2012 race season we made alot of changes over the off season complete rebuild of the car powder coated the frame wheels and bumpers. plus alot of custom parts but all of our hard work seamed to pay off after the first race got the car in victory lane after we scored quick time at meridian speedway in meridian idaho. (sorry my helmets in the way of the number)

Hope we get more then one race before we have to replace everything like last year. Spun coming out 2 last year just a straight away back and they came all the around and hit him head on because of no yellow. Track officials said they couldn't see him.

That was UGLY. That was one of the biggest hits that I have ever seen a Legends car take at least head on like that. It was like that scene on Day's of Thunder when he drives through the smoke and fire. Hope you guys have a better year Robert.

had our first season racing and was a learning curve especially with engine and electrical gremlins but we had a few podiums and set track record which stood the whole season.
Had a terrible last race at our state title being taken out so gave me a reason to buy a brand new one.

Thanks Steve! I should have clarified that I'm finished rebuilding the car after 2 years. Its got a main event win in Willow Springs, a Trophy dash win at Orange Show, a heat win at Whittemore Speedway and a Austrailian Pursuit win at Owosso Speedway.
I've been racing it since 2010, just looks alot different now and the chassis is straight...oh and it moved across the country :)

The whole season we had a motor blow, (running 120 jets on our 1250 from usa setup) and one left rear tyre got cut after a slide job gone wrong to us.
Being a new class out here the first year racing was great for all of us and racing got closer by the end, lost count the amount of heat wins we have now got but the first heat of that video i cleared them out by a straight, all with a stock 1200 motor out of a wrecker bike! cant wait to get some laps in the new beast.

had our first season racing and was a learning curve especially with engine and electrical gremlins but we had a few podiums and set track record which stood the whole season.
Had a terrible last race at our state title being taken out so gave me a reason to buy a brand new one.

Its hard to see, but its skulls under the flames and the roof is orange carbon fiber pattern. I may still turn the backup car into the woody pattern again, or was thinking of doing something with stenciled lace patterns. That car is still a ways from being finished though.

Thanks that was the day the graphics were done. On his first practice day the lollypop for the upper left control arm broke off (weld never penetrated the lollypop) and he bent the front &rear clips and twisted the center section. We bought another chassis and it will be done and back on the track this Sat.

We had practice last weekend. I had him do a shake down for the first round, and then he got faster each round after that. All in all it was a GREAT day.

Finally got the new coupe out on the track after a season in the pits helping others getting fast.
The car needed some tweaks for the feature race as it was loose for the second heat. We qualified 17th out of 34 for a free pass into the A main. We decided to sit the feature out as it was our state title and we only turned up to do a shake down on the car and get some exposure for the sponsors and the forum for our up coming winter series.
Lucky we did park it up as 24 started and 14 finished.

Car was totally different to the sedan in handling. Felt like car would not turn in like it was getting push but on exit was loose. We managed to go from 10th - 5th in our first heat then held 7th in second heat.
Have also noticed with the rear end square in the car at our normal setting, the left side sits back in the guard almost to point of touching. Looks like we running rear steer but if i adjust it forward we loose rake on the pinion to point we are tilting diff upwards?
Will work on the scales a little more and try our luck in few weeks at another meeting.
Also got the legends racer sticker on bonnet for bit of exposure to forum.

Super Stoked to finally annouce I have a Legends Car. The body is a 34 Ford Coupe and the Chassis was new in 2013. Sealed 1250 with ten races. Has a Jeff Jordan Clip and rear end with 3.33 gears. Funny thing is the car was bought ten minutes from my house in Dallas, NC and then went all the way to eastern NC just to come back my way a few months later. This has been a long wait but I'm here.
I still need to save money for a suit, HANS and a trailer. I'm realisticly expecting to start racing in 2015 at either Concord, NC or Charlotte.
If anyone runs these tracks I would love to help you guys out some to learn a little about these cars prior to hitting the track next year. I live in Gastonia, NC please PM me if you could use the help or just don't mind me hanging around and learning something.

These have since been resolved so we now have just started on a new project.
Just got the new chassis back from the coaters so now we have the start of the latest pony in the TCR stables.
