Title: Brakes
Post by: Legendracer11 on August 10, 2015, 04:22:13 pm
The left front locks up occasionally. If I press the brakes too hard to brake locks up but the other cars are still going deeper in the corner with no brake lock up? How can this be fixed

Use a harder / less aggressive LF pad.

Its easy to figure out if using the Wilwoods, a little more research pains if buying the Toyota pads from auto parts store.

Example: the Wilwood's least aggressive pad is the BP10.

What pads are you currently using? Assuming it will only lock up in the turns, not on a straight, correct?

using a brake man 30 for the front with original brakeman calipers, on the rear for shoes using wagner.

That is why you run a brake bias valve on the LF.

I'm a dirt guy, so I concede to the asphalt guys

Brad nailed it, thats why we run brake bias off the LF.

Already had brake bias on LF and it made the rear end very loose upon entry so we moved it to the brake bias to the rear and the car worked a lot better. Now we just have the initial problem of brake lock up

Run your bias to the rear and LF. Should fix your problem
