My son and I are new to Legends cars, and need some advice. We got rained out last night, after qualifying, and in our haste to get out of the rain tied down the car while it was still in gear. When we tried to pull it out of the trailer this morning, it was stuck in gear. After many attempts, the gears appeared to loosen up, but we tried to start it and it lurched forward even with the clutch pedal fully depressed. Did we ruin the clutch? Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Shouldnt have ruined the clutch. First thing I'd try is to bleed it

same thing would happen to me with it stalling pump the clutch alot and hold it depressed a second or 2 and try putting the car into gear after. I do it every time and haven't had a problem, but after starting it i always put it in 2nd gear.

But it shouldn't do that.
Yes, there are ways to get around the problem, but if you need to pump it continuously, you have air in the lines for some reason or a failing clutch master or slave cylinder...all relatively cheap and easy fixes.
Bleed it and see what happens.

the SHOULD pop out or in gear with out the clutch while not running. If the cars can not shift than something may have bent in the trans, Also check all shifter linkage

Do you have the old style aluminum shifter link? Maybe that stripped out a bit while in gear and moved so that there is not enough travel to shift out of gear?

Thanks to all for your advice. Problem solved...

What was it?

Thanks to everyone for your advice. Pumping and holding the clutch was an effective temporary fix, and bleeding it seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for the update. Glad it worked for you.
