Title: shock question

this is the strangest thing.. trying to set ride heights in  the front of the car.. can not get front end to go below 41/4 inches out of adjustment on the adjuster.. all the adjuster are installed correctly. clip is on the end of the shock..everything was off the car and total rebuild.. tossed it on the scales and cross was at 50 percent.. both front adjusters are at the very top...control arms are installed correctly double checked everything, why would the adjusters be at the top?   please help..not new at this....

Do you have your A-arms on the wrong sides of the car?

.. shocks are good no binds

... control arms are correct and new shock mouints to the bottom ..

make sure the c-clip on the shock is in the lowest position (assuming you are using 10" springs) New shocks come with the clip in the top slot which is for 8" springs.

If that is not the problem, I would take the shocks off the car, and with the front in the air, raise the wheel all the way through the range of motion and make sure it is not binding anywhere, such as the a-arm hitting the cross member or something.

this is starting to work on my mind. took all shocks off and springs all good.. can not get ride height low enough in the front end , has anyone ever run high ride heights on asphalt?  like 41/4 front and 5 rear?

update.. mike at cmg.. gave me all different spacers and measurements .. took the entire front end off. measured and checked everything. reassembled and was able to get heights and cross... we'll see saturdayif i got it right.. thanks to all for the sugestions and help..

we found trying to run a higher height for clay that we have to run the jam nut on the heims joining the front arms to the chassis loose, as with the amount of travel we require on a rough track had the heims locking up the front end....prob old news to all the other guys on here already, we just could not work out why our car would spin out so easily on a semi smooth track.
