Hey guys,
I had a friend of mine had a bad accident over the weekend in his legend car. For some reason the throttle hung and he went off the track. It appears he will be fine with the exception of a broken leg which will require surgery. The car from what I hear is toast.
I've done a little searching on here but cant seem to find the answer I'm looking for. What are some things us racers can do to prevent this from happening? I've read something about a bracket being welded to the chassis for the throttle cable but I don't really understand what its all about. If anyone could provide some pictures on here that would be great.
Thanks,
Eric

On dirt I have seen it happen multiple times. rocks will get kicked up and lodged in there. We run screens on the top/front of the motor to keep that from happening

It can also happen if the carb clamps are installed improperly and the screw hangs up on the throttle cable or the plate where the throttle cable slides into. There is a locating tab on the intake boot itself that must be aligned in order to make sure there is no interference.

Does anyone have any pictures of this throttle cable tab people are talking about?
Thanks everyone!
