Title: Starter Solenoid Location
Post by: El Gringo on May 01, 2017, 03:42:02 pm
Where is the solenoid suppose to be located? Mine is in front of the gear shifter on top of the drive shaft tunnel.

It is located on the battery hold down.

I didn't think mine was right. From the parts drawings on 600 Legend you can see it is close to the battery. I think I'll leave mine where it is as I plan to locate the fuse block somewhere in that area. I hope I get some more parts today so I can get started.

I think that area between the dash and the cowl looks like an interesting place to hide the electrical.
Not to keen on having all that on the driveshaft tunnel.

It's not the perfect place for sure but my back wont let me do a lot of twisting and bending. That's my reason for having it up on the lift.

I was thinking more along the lines of cutting an access panel in the top of the cowl and building a tray to mount the electrical components to.

Steve,  I have been debating for two hours on drilling holes to mount the tail/stoplights

LOL!!! About all you can do is decide where you think they look best and are the most visible and GO FOR IT! You may need to fab brackets to mount them to.
I bought a billet 3rd brake light that will mount on the rear package tray (as such). Right in the middle of the rear window. Then again, I don't have to worry about what is behind me :D

Remember that there is not a lot of room inside these little cars. Take advantage of whatever spaces that would make for easy access!
