Just stringing the car tonight and not sure how to approach this. my rf tire is outside the rr, and my lf tire is inside of my lr..... Should these tires be in line with the rear tires? Just seems like the way it is now, the front end is offset from the rear. Is this typical? seems as if I could move out the lf and move in the rf to get these two ends of the ar in line with each other, is that thinking correctly?

They are often offset depending on your set-up

Like Jim said it doesn't have to line up. Depends on what you and the car like.
How does the car drive setup like that? Tight?

It is fairly normal for the front wheels to be slightly wider track width than the rear.
Pontiac made a whole sales pitch on this idea and sold a ton of cars.
Handling-wise, the rear should be slightly less than the front.

A good rule of thumb is to always line up the right side tire contact patches. LR wheel placement isnt as critical as getting the right sides in line.

An old school handling trick for dirt late models (80's or Brewster Baker Era) was to move the RF out (wider front track width) for flat tracks or to tighten entry and to move the RF in (equal front & rear track width) for banked tracks and to loosen on entry.

On asphalt the farther you move the right rear out the loser the car will be. as mentioned you want to line up the CONTACT patches of the right side tires.

This will not work with a Legends car as the short and narrow stance will make the car very unbalanced if you start moving things around like that.
