so how many people have switched back to mounting oil filter on the back of the motor ? and how is it working out ?

I've got one ordered, cant wait to eliminate all those lines to the front, and be able to actually see things from above instead of having to go underneath the car. Also, should help in cooling with less "stuff" in front of the motor

it works great. It is still easy to get to and much more oil pressure which is always good.

Hank Scott has a new one that mounts to the block near the frame on the left side of the motor. Not sure if anyone on here has tried it out yet.

Still sticking with the Oberg. (old thread)
Have run them on all of my race cars. Able to take them apart and check the screens, wash them, and reinstall.
Beats hell out of replacing and trying to check canister type filters.
Sorry if that sounds a bit grouchy... Just haven't had much sleep.

Just went with the texas style myself. The Texas style filter mount is just an adapter that you screw on where the original Yamaha filter went on the back of the motor. This allows you to use spin on filters instead of the Yamaha cartridge filter that you need to remove to bolts to change.
It works great and is easy to get at and change.
New motor works great BTW Steve.

600 racing sells it. The adapter looks like the remote system but allows a screw on filter on the back of the motor. The filter is different though but there is more oil pressure, less oil lines running around, and no chance of hooking up the lines wrong and starving the motor for oil :-)

I use the "texas style" filter and it works great. I dont know why you would want all the extra weight of the lines and mount one these cars plus the oil filter is in harms way with teh remote mount. My engine builder recomends the stock Yamaha filter setup.

Trying to get this streight ? the stock one works ok, but you use the texas style which bolts in the stock location but used a screw on filter ? but is used a special filter ? thanks Vern

I think the Texas style one points the filter down so that it is easier to remove and the spin on filter should have a bigger filtering area than the stock one.

Mine is parralell to the ground like the stock filter. If my car came with the stock filter setup I would have just left it on and saved the money. Thier is nothing wrong with the stock setup, some people just like to use the spin on filters becuase they are easier to change and have a little more filter material.
