With putting the weight into the seat you are concentrating it into one spot. Your body weight is spread out in the passenger compartment and not just concentrated into the seat.

If you truly have to do the set up by yourself, I think the weight in the seat works out close enough.

I am not saying that it won't work but every little bit helps ;). Attention to detail is what makes these cars fast.

Thats why you dont put ALL of the lead in the seat  ;)
I check it with me in and then add weight to match the front rear and side %.
