I have a black box ignition system. The timing plate is fixed in one spot. is the plate for the red ignition system adjustable?

Yes the red box plate is adjustable. You can also make the black box plate adjustable by slotting the mount screw holes.

Thier is a little to gain just like a car engine. Another consideration with timing is fuel, some fuels require diffrenet timing due to the different burn rates.

It is sure looking like we will be on pump (93 oct.) fuel next year. I think that is a good thing. So there would be no gain by advanceing your timing.
