Full-Face Helmets in 2009

Found this on Legends Nation today:

Full-Face Helmets Mandatory in 2009 INEX Legends Car Competition

11-26-2008 | National News

At the beginning of November, Masters division driver Buddy Goudy sustained facial injuries after he flipped his Legends Car 12 times at Texas Motor Speedway.  Goudy was wearing an open-face helmet without a head and neck restraint.  Just five days later, the Lone Star Legends series released a new rule making it mandatory for all drivers to wear a full-face helmet and head and neck restraint in all Legends Car events in the series.

Rumors appeared online early Wednesday morning that INEX was going to make a rule change in the same direction for 2009.  LegendsNation.com confirmed with INEX Executive Director Darrel Krentz on Wednesday morning by phone that while the head and neck restraint rule will not change at this time (only required for drivers 15 years of age or younger, according to the 2008 rulebook), full-face helmets will be mandated for Legends drivers for the 2009 racing season.

If a guy wants info on our series, it looks like LegendsNation.com is the place to go.  You sure won't find much info on 600's site.  I think the changes LegendsNation is making will make it a nice site to go to for Legends info all across the country.

Our friend and fellow legendsracer member Jason "Stix" Buckley does seem to stay on top of things.

Why in the Hell would anyone think of racing without a full face helmet? I never understand why we have to be told to protect ourselves.

Their was a guy at the Dirt Nationals that had an open face helmet, he must be nuts.

Racecar spelled backwards is racecar. Racecar upside down is expensive.
