Who is your son, I guess I was 4th then.  I know I passed the 611 and the 21 and thought I was third as I could see what I thought was the top 2 but may have been 2nd and 3rd.

He was the 22. We had a chance for 2nd until the motor died with 2 laps to go, just shut off. I have no idea what happened.

Yeah, I remember seeing him lose power in turn 4.  He was my pick to win the race after watching him in the ROC Friday.  I elected not to do the ROC because I couldnt take a chance on wrecking my car for a trophy.  I wish I would have done that race because it looked like a lot of fun.

He had a blast. We all did.  This was his first full year and I think it went well except for the motor thing. I was dissappointed with the car count though. I thought it was going to be a larger event.

Congratulations to the guys who made the trip to run at the Dirt Nationals.  I found these hightlight videos.  They look like first class stuff.  http://www.garysilvermanproductions.com/clips/legnats08.htm.

Thats cool, I am in almost every clip from the semi-pro race, LOL.  I didnt realize my fire was that big, I only saw a little glow.

You luck out and have a professional taking video of the races.  I wish there would have been someone doing that for the last 2 Nationals.

I had a great weekend all and all. Thursday I was fastest on the speed chart for a while and decided to put the car under the cover because it was so good. Friday after practice I had fallen to 7th quick and needed to find some more speed. We made a couple of changes and qualified 5th. Had to start the heat race 6th and made a few spots and finished 3rd which gave me a 5th place starting spot for Saturday. Saturday and we decided to change the car completely around. We worked on it all day and had no idea if it was going to be any better. I went out for practice and it felt about the same after all that work. Started 5th and fell back a couple of spots when coming through turn 4 I tapped the #13 car (Troy Speten)  and I was sent to the back. I thought the night was over but was able to move back to the front of the pack using cautions and pretty fast car. I missed so wrecks and had some guys fall out because of mechanical problems but that is part of racing. After all was said and done we got a big trophy and got to spray some Champaign. I got to meet some great guys and had blast. I would like to say thanks to all the people who put this year event on and donated all the door prizes (I won a couple of wheels). I also got a $50 dollar bonus. Hope everyone has a great off season and hope to see everyone next year where ever it will be. Seeya

Those are some nice videos. Looks like a fun track.

Not surprised to see #48 car on his roof again... I'm sure we will see that a couple times in '09 too  :-\

DJ, that was my same thought.  I started last in that heat race and was hanging back waiting for him to wreck.  It only took him 3/4 of a lap and I was able to drive past without incident.  He said he was done racing and he was going to have his son drive the car next year, which is a good move for everyone on the track.

Sounds like a good move.

Did that fire do any damage to your car? And that track looked real fast too.

No damage, just some paint burned off the fender.

Just watched some of the video.  I cannot believe they have tractor tires along the back stretch outside wall.  That is a really good way to stop a car way too fast.  It looks like there was some really good racing.
