Bando: New or used
« on: June 07, 2008, 05:58:50 pm »
Both of my boys have been racing Karts in NC for awhile. My youngest (12yrs) was able to hop into my bosses  sons car a couple of weeks ago and caught on real quick and finished 3rd in his first race. So I'm looking at getting one for him, and the oldest will be going into a Legends later this Summer. For the Bando I have looked at some used ones, with nothing knockin my socks off yet. My question is this; Is there any performance gain in buying new over one that is say 5+ years old. I guess I am looking for opinions on new vs used. Thanks in advance.

 Bill,
 The biggest thing to look for when buying a used car is to make sure the updates come with it.
The chassis and engines really haven't changed that much.
Your kart experience will help a lot.
 Take a look at Geoff's Bando. Started out as a "Plain Jane" - a few upgrades, some beautiful paint;
Very nice looking car! And it also performs!!!
 There is not a lot of info online about Bando cars. This site is quickly becoming the place to share info about Bandos.

Regards,

Steve

Give the guys some time.
Many are better qualified to answer your questions.

Best of Luck to you and the boys!

I purchased my car used over the internet. Just need to make sure the updates are done (shocks, engine seals and roof bars). I do not think there is really any advantage to having a new car over a used. Although you can find a complete deal on a used car with spares. Just be sure of what you are buying. You will make the history for a new car and sometimes the history is hard to find out on a used.
