How To Identify Old Engines From Newer Engines
(1/1)
AllenSpeed:
I have been told that the older engine platform or version is better than the newer one. Does anybody know how to identify an older version vs a newer version? I have located an part number stamp at the base of the block on the oil filter side.

Unfortunately I do not have any information on the engine numbers.
I know they made a small fan engine (older style) and a large fan engine (newer style).
I posted this info when asked the difference in the big fan engine vs small fan engine:
"The small fan motor has a smaller flywheel. It can get up to speed faster, which is good for smaller tracks and tracks with tighter turns, where you do a lot of braking. The big fan motor has a bigger flywheel, which is beneficial at larger tracks where you are drafting and using the brakes less because it allows you to maintain more momentum."
