Seat mounting question
« on: December 27, 2020, 05:22:32 am »
Hi

I am new to legends and have always wanted to get one so finally after many years I had luck and was able to get a 37 chevy sedan. Slowly getting it back together after taking it apart and checking things over and fixing the frame and had the big boy kit installed.

But my question is about the mounting of the seat. Im 6ft5 280 pounds found a seat that woukd fit me and fit in the car a ultrashield tight clearance 18 inch 20 degree lay back.
I put the seat in the car and noticed the left side of the seat hits the mounting tab that inex put in the car so I bent it out of the way for now until I can figure out how to mount the bottom of the seat

So my question is how woukd you guys that are bigger like me mount the bottom of the seat? The local guys have helped with choosing the seat but I think they are annoyed of me asking questions for help that they won't really help any more even though they offered me help.

I painted the frame with tsc rustoleum paint for the first year so I can make adjustments and not have to worry abt messing up powder coat. Im planning on losing weight so hopefully I'll fit in the car alittle better when I do.

Welcome to the forum and to Legends racing!

Lots of different thoughts on seat mounting. A rule of thumb, the lesser the degree of seat the more legroom and less headroom and vice versa.
Here are some links to old threads that may help you:

You can do a search on the site for seat mounting and come up with a few others. Hope these help you out some.
