Question is it possible to put a 1250 head on a 1200?

As long as it does not have the EGR ports/tubes it can be used on a 1200.

Have to ask...
Would that not lower compression?
Also; Is it legal? I guess that is the bigger question.
Interesting theory!

Why would it lower the compression?

Any XJR head without the EGR ports is a legal installation onto a 1200.

Randy,

I was thinking about combustion chamber size. Since I do not know the difference in the heads, I was asking.

The heads are the same internally, just different in the amount of fins machined away on the outside between the FJ & XJR design and the EGR ports.

Those are the only two differences.
