Well, it's that time of year again.
Let everyone know what you are doing to your car in the off season, and post your results for the 2016 season.

Best Wishes and Safe Racing in 2016!

My big move for the offseason is upgrading to enclosed trailer. Not 100% I will stick with legends from here on out so I'm buying an 8.5x20 or 24, this will give me room for street stock if I choose to go that route.  Not sure yet. I have done months research on trailers brands and I've heard nothing but good thing about Homesteader trailers.

As for the car, I bought The Wilwood brake kit used off a guy. We sit about 1340 with my fat butt in the car so we are looking forward to the weight savings.

Going to start tearing into the car in a week or so. OT at my job has dried up for the moment so I'm a little strapped for funds atm. She has been sitting on jack stands since the nationals.

Waiting to hear back from a potential sponsor atm. If it comes through we will be very well funded this year. If not it will be tight with the purchase of the trailer.

Thankfully we don't have to do much to be ready for the up-coming season. We finished in one piece for the first time in 3 years. Just need refresh a few things and off we go again. Didn't have the finish we wanted, but we think we know what we're doing now.  ::)

Looking for a new tow vehicle at the moment. As soon as I can, I need to get down to Joplin and pick up the chassis I bought from the Comers. Circumstances didn't allow me to pick it up in August.

During the offseason I purchased a coupe chassis and body to build for asphalt. Rebuilt my motor and put the thing together in 6 nights to head out and race at Atlanta Motor Speedway this past weekend. Finished 2nd and was running with the leaders the whole time, so feeling pretty accomplished.  ;D

So things are looking up already! New (to me) tow vehicle bought ('03 Dodge Durango). I'm pretty excited!!! Now I just have to arrange my vacation time so I can pick up the chassis. :)

Tax return money. Bought bumpers and another steering box from Tyler Corpron for the race car. Ordering the new heads for my tow vehicle. Won't justify a trip to Joplin, MO until I know the car is right.

Bumpers and steering box came in today! All look to be in decent shape. Almost as good as Christmas!!! :D

Now to get the heads ordered for the tow vehicle! Not sure I want to take this project on; But has to be done.

Ran my first race at Anderson,SC on the 3/8 mile banked oval on March 18.  We had 22 cars.  I managed to get some good laps under my belt and finish in middle of the pack in 13th.  Met ZFORCE, Gene Trexler and many other drivers.  Good times and people like that remind me of why I race Legends.  Sylvia, Drew and everyone at that track are Do a really good job and are nice people.   I plan to run again on April 15.

Sounds like a great experience. Mid pack is a good start. You will get faster as you gain more experience.
Best of Luck,

Jim,

I saw the pic of the rear end. Looked slightly bent.  :o
I hope you race this year. Best wishes, whichever direction you decide to go.
