Tachometer wiring
« on: December 19, 2015, 06:06:56 pm »
We have a SAAS tachometer (new), our problem is that it only reads half rpm at idle and even less when the rpms are increased, we have it wired to the rpm wire as indicated in the wiring schematics.( wire is also tagged as Tacho)
Is there any particular tachometer that matches the wiring for a legend or are we missing something or can it be wired in elsewhere to obtain the correct rpm.?
Yes it's switched to 4 cylinder mode( tachometer has 4,6,8 switch)...

You will have to cut one of the wires on the back of your tach. Contact the manufacturer to determine wich one.

Do you mean disconnected one of the wires?... So I need power and power for the Tacho itself... I need an earth and a signal, so would it be the ground wire or earth wire?...im just guessing?.
There's only four wires?...

Ok I've just spent a few hours checking around and it seems  I need a Tacho adapter for multi coil ignition.
