Driver Size
« on: June 21, 2015, 11:47:36 am »
I'm was interested in getting into legends racing.  But kind of concern about my size before I drive 4 hours to the closest dealer.    I am 6'4" and a little over 300 pounds.  Will I fit in a car?

There are some other threads on the subject of taller/larger drivers.

A lot depends on seat position, layback, steering column position, and style of car. Most likely a 37 sedan would be what you would be looking at. If there's a track that races them closer than your nearest dealer, I haven't met a legends driver yet that wouldn't let someone sit in their car

I agree with Jim. I'm 6ft 2 inches and 220 pounds. Height wise I'm pretty close to the top roll bar in my 37 sedan but it seems like the right car. You may have to play around with the seat mounting (and seats in general), but I'm willing to be its possible. Good luck, Welcome to Legends!

I am 6'4 & 290 and I drive a 4 bar sedan. Mine has had the big boy chassis modification and some other work done by USLC to help me fit comfortably in the car and be safe. I also have my seal laid back more than normal because my height is in my torso. Where are you located?

6,3 240. Just enough room would love to change the angle of the brake pedal tho.

Basic answer;
Yes, you can fit. Fit is dependant on seat, seat angle, steering wheel placement/size, pedal placement, etc...
I've seen some pretty good size  people in these cars. There are ways. As mentioned; Head room can be an issue as well as knees and elbows.
May not always be the most comfortable fit; But you can fit.

Elbow room is an issue no matter what size you are. Your left elbow will be sore until you form that Legends driver calcium deposit.

Can confirm, I'm 5'7 150lbs and bang my elbow into the drivers door each and every race.
