Thanks, Jim, Ill keep that in mind.

The motor had lost oil pressure for one reason or another, definatly not clutch related.

This is without a doubt a Barnet unit? I've seen ones that a blue, slightly different looking. This doesn't have the Barnet name on it anywhere.

Thanks guys!

That is not a Barnett, that is some form of aftermarket plate that used the stock pressure plate as well. There were several different manufactures that made a variety of them.

I have both of the Barnett springs in stock;

Standard which are gold color and rated at 75 lbs

Heavy duty which are green in color and are rated at 82 lbs

The Barnett pressure plate is currently blue, there was red color more than ten years ago.

Just an update.

I went ahead and installed this Barnet like pressure plate in the car torqueing it to stock Yamaha specifications which also happens to be the same torque spec of a Barnet pressure plate ( I cant remember the spec of it off the top of my head this instant).

Off to the track. The clutch hooked up great but I was loosing the clutch pedal and the use of the clutch completely. I ran a race in 4th gear the entire night.  I was also loosing brake fluid out of the slave cylinder.

 Thinking I had a slave cylinder issue I rebuild it with the new gaskets and spring. I reinstalled the slave cylinder to find that it did not fix the issue, same result. Bleed the system and then Id get maybe 5 pumps out of the clutch pedal before it eventually went to the floor and stopped working. At times I could pull back on the clutch pedal to get a few more pumps before it was gone. While doing this I had someone watch the clutch rod on the engine. It was not returning back as much as it should be. My father thought it was the pressure plate and sure enough he was right. I went ahead and installed the stock Yamaha setup and all seems to be well.

My theory, the clutch plate wasn't pushing the clutch rod back into the slave cylinder hard enough or far enough. It was probably allowing the slave cylinder to travel to far and allow fluid to leak out past it. Bottom line, I don't know the correct torque spec for these red springs. I never should have assumed that it would be the same as the Barnet. Live and learn, never install a component into the car without the right knowledge.

All seems to be good now. If someone has any knowledge on this pressure plate please feel free to chime in. Id still like to know who makes it and what it should be torqued at. It did work in my other motor before it windowed.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Eric
