Who makes the tach? They would probably be able to send you a manual or maybe even have it available online.

Here is their website if you are not able to get an answer here. (
www.autometer.com
) I don't have a legends car yet, so not sure on the wiring yet. Under the tech information, you might be able to find wiring details. I was able to get wiring information from them on a used tach I bought a few years ago, and they even repaired it for much less than buying a new one.

Just found this under the tech info. I guess the wiring colors are standard regardless of the type of motor.
• Red = key on power supply
• Black = common chassis ground
• White = dash lighting power
• Green = tachometer signal for standard or electronic ignitions

On my wiring diagram that came with my car from 600 the green wire on the tach gets hooked into the black wire on the red ignition box, if you dont have the red box im not sure.

I just picked up some new switches from Longarce so I pulled the dash out and painted it. I put everything back in and hooked the Tach back up and it is not working. I saw the white hooked up, the black was grounded and the green to the connection. I was like what is wrong with this thing. I cut the memory wiring off as the switch was busted. Now that I read this post and see there is supposed to be a red wire I will have to go hunting for it and plug it in.

GRgraphics,
Please post what you come up with on the wiring, as I am looking at the same tach.
Thanks,
Steve

So I hooked up the red wire and it is still not working. The memory switch was broken so I just cut the wires off. Would that have anything to do with it?

I called autometer yesterday and it turns out for the tach to work correctly the memory switch has to be connected. Wired it back up and it works fine.

RB,
Thanks for that bit of info!
I wouldn't have thought it would matter.
