Fuel Cell.
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:17:06 am »
So I saw a thread on here sometime last season regarding the shut off valve on the top of the fuel cell designed to stop the fuel from leaking out of the tank in a roll over. It was a reminder to check it.

Going over the car last night I pulled the fuel cell and turned it over with a little of the remaining gas left inside. At first I noticed that gasoline was leaking out between the metal plate and the tank. I tightened down all of the bolts maybe a half turn each and that took care of that issue. The valve seems to be doing its job ok but I’m getting a lot of fuel leaking out of the gas cap.

Is there a seal for the metal plate that sits on top of the tank? Where can I get a new seal for the gas cap? This is the plastic tank from 600.

Thanks,

Eric

If your're looking for the gasket between fuel cell and filler neck top plate, I purchased it from Lane Automotive, termed 12 Bolt Fuel Cell Gasket - P/N FUE1GAS98.  Sells for $15.99.

Hope this helps!  ;D

Yes, part number is 1GAS98. It is a Fuel Safe fuel cell.
Here is the link to Fuel Safe for the part: http://www.fuelsafe.com/store/replacement-parts/gaskets/1gas98.html

Thanks Guys. Any info on the gas cap gasket itself? This is the black Fuel safe tank with the red cap.

Not sure of the part number for the cap gasket. When you call Fuel Safe, just let them know it's for a Legends car, they'll get you the right one

Just for future reference. I emailed Fuel Safe and got the following info on the gas cap and gasket.

The gasket is Part# 1GAS01 for $6.24, and the complete cap is Part# FC225 for $42.12. Both can be ordered online.

Again, thanks everyone!

Eric

Do you have a local dealer? This part is something I normally stock, and going to your local Legends dealer if possible probably would have saved you some hassle of trying to find the right part.
