Dont use the shift light, if you try to use it during racing it'll screw you up, once you start driving you'll know when it's time to shift.

Make vroom noises.... shoot I took it out and drove it!!!!  Just about wet myself from the excitement and it was only at about half throttle.  I havn't weighd it yet.    Hope to get the thing broke in some more this week and then get the body off to paint.  So would you guys take all the panels off on the inside, leave them white, or use a brush to paint them.  Just thought it would be hard to remove the gauges from the dash to paint it.  Any thoughts????

Joe

Ps. thanks for the tip with the shift light.

Hi Joe,
Bet your neighbors loved that!  ;D

I painted everything inside (so far) white. My dash is aluminum (natural) and intend to leave it that way for the time being. When I get to interior panels; I like the aluminum look. Just my preference.

Not hard to remove the gauges; just a pain. You could do that, or mask off the gauges, spray (or brush), and clean up with a bit of acetone.

 Shift light:
I've thought that it would be cool - - - -
But think Mike is right. You'll hear it, and feel it!

You'll probably love a shift light if you start with one, and curse it if you don't.  If you don't start with one, then add it later, you'll likely forget to even look at it!

There are times that I'm going to wish I had one, but now that I've started off without one, I'm thinking I'll go without.  The only time I'll wish I had one will be during a restart.  Nothing worse than thinking you're in 3rd to find out you're in 4th...

Mike
If it isn't fun, why are you doing it?

That is why I got the gear indicator put in the car at the factory. ;D

A guy I work with said he should be able to come out this weekend to help set up the car.  This is a great help since he used to race legends and I have no clue on whats going on. :o

As for my neighbors... I live in the country on a 2 acre lot in a development.  And everyone has atvs and such, shoot my newest neighbor even came down to the house to check the car out and introduce himself. :D

It sounds like you have a big enough yard to plow up a practice dirt track.  Just a thought.  :)

I might have to run over to ND and test my car out.

Wonder if the neighbors would get upset if I used our court for practice.  :)

I've got 4 acres and we're not even allowed to put up a shed! Wish I could plow a practice track. Damn subdivision restrictions!
