One longer stud on some carriers..
DARK AGE 53:
when doing a gear change last week I found the carrier that came on the car had one longer stud then the new carrier, not a big deal but you might want to get a shorter stud just in case.

Hi Al,
From what I have read, this was indicative of a 10 bolt Toyota rear end housing. Have found that this is not always true.

You can plug it with silicone, it not a big deal.

JGRacing:
Bringing up an old subject. Anyone know where I can get one of the long studs. The carrier that came on the car uses the short stud, but the carrier I am switching uses the long stud. If I just seal it with gasket seal, do I just keep the short stud on and only have 9 nuts holding it in the housing?
VMS Motorsports:
Im just a 9 nutter myself...
That sounded odd... ::)
