Well, chrome doesn't look so hot. You can salvage and keep for a spare.
I have a new muffler but no header. Thinking to fab one from the old pipes.  ???
As I won't be running an FJ/XJ engine I am left to my own devices. Seen some headers on eBay, but will still need to modify for my use.

I was thinking legal coated header to retain heat plus it has the swirl pattern going in the muffler per firing order

You could certainly coat it. Getting it loose or chiseling out the old pieces of pipe is a pain in the backside. Certainly doable if you've got time to kill.

hahaha.. Steve, it is coated with chrome plating. I don't care if it shines. Like I said, it will retain heat legally since it came from 600 this way.
Air dremel and carbide bit bailed right through the crappy weld .. have a good header plus salvaged the muffler

Vern,
Try some of the dealers on www.dwarfcarracing.com .
Might even be able to find a good used one in their classifieds.

I run GSXR's in a legend car and I have tried several over the counter headers with no success .
We have someone in our club that makes the headers to fit.
I think the parts come from ACE header in Houston, Texas.

 Thanks Rusty.
Apology I can't help ya out any more than I did with the Speed Partz advice on the header Vern. Majority of my Gixxer experience has gone into Bikes or Sprints. I am aware of the header issues while installing them into a Legend though.
