temp gauge hook up
« on: October 06, 2013, 10:56:08 pm »
Recently bought a used legend that has rpm, temp, and oil pressure gauge but only rpm is working the other two aren't wired in. Can anyone help me out with this? A diagram or photos or anything... its the open hank scott engine in the car. Thanks!

Really you should get ride of all gauges. Just get a plain dash and get rid of all the weight because your not going to have time to look at them anyway but if you do they will just scare you.

If  its an oil temp gauge, it connects to a sensor near the front of the motor by the drain plug of the oil pan. This sensor screws in from the front of motor if your facing the car.

Oil pressure port is on the exhaust side of the engine.

Some guys like alot of gauges, some don't.
You may be suprised how little time you have to look at gauges while racing.
Personally, I only run the oil pressure gauge and the oil level light.
If the light is on and I'm not turning, it's time to glance at the pressure gauge

Thanks for the reply's as for the gauge I don't plan on looking at it all the time but when there is an issue its much better to have a gauge to check and a peace of mind. Its really just that.
