Headphone amplifier?
« on: April 26, 2014, 09:14:11 pm »
Hey guys,

Pretty much all of us legend guys use the  raceiver  and it's worked reasonably well.  The most common issue I hear is that drivers can't hear the race tower when we are at speed and the motors are all wound up. Most of us are also wearing molded earbuds, it just doesn't seem like the volume is all that loud on these things.

Something I've considered, and I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger, has anyone ever run an  inline headphone amplifier to boost the volume? Ones on amazon run around $20.  If so what do you run?

Thanks,

Eric

Cool, just to be clear, this boost's the signal so its louder? Does it take a battery?

I have personally never used it, but that's what I am told.
I have never had problems hearing the tower with my Ultimate Earbuds, but we have some loud talkers.

It does not take a battery

I spent big bucks on nice custom molded ear plugs.  I still struggled to hear.  Then, someone told me to put a piece of racers tape over the ear plugs after putting them in my ears.  That seemed to do the trick for me.  Make sure to use tape that can be removed.  Some of that tape will pull the skin right off your ears!  Ha.

I do that as well. I use duct tape over my earbuds.  ;D
