That seems like a pretty economical way to go if you find the right deal. The fender/ramp idea is pretty cool too. I'll have to keep an eye out for some old campers for sale.

All you need is one with a good frame. Interior/ exterior are uniportant as that will be stripped off. You may be able to get some return on your investment by selling any good appliances, heater, water heater, scrap metal, etc...
