I figured that out by myself.
Nikasil takes a $5500 hone to remove material, iron sleeves can be NC engineered with about $400 worth of honing equipment. Yet again.... Its $$ not quality at hand here. A whopping 130 hp in a nickel carbide bore at 400 degrees is no sweat to modern principles...... However, let the skirt clearance slip a bit, and sure, make youself feel better by showing the japanese how to make 130hp with 1250 cc's lol.
