Sealed engine and Vin # questions

(1/2) > >>

IAHexcon:
Hi Jim,

Here comes the first of many stupid questions....where can I find the VIN number for my Legend?  I purchased the car in a private sale and figured it to be buried somewhere in the paperwork given to me but when I turned to the page where the VIN is supposed to be it is blank.  The only plate I can find on the car itself is on the steering column and the number is 600****R, is this it?  I have a call in to the guy I bought it from for the info.  I'm not even sure if Houston requires an INEX membership as it isn't stated in the rules but there is INEX and 600 Racing stuff all over the car so I assume so.

Thanks in advance!

VMS Motorsports:
Yes, 600-XXXX is your vin#
You should have received a title, or Certificate of Registration from him when you bought the car.
They may have changed since last time I registered one, but mine has the Vehicle Identification No. up top right under the word "Certificate".
Should also have a certificate of Origin too I believe.

VMS Motorsports:
Houston did report National Points last year, so I would have to assume you will need an INEX license to race there.
You will want to get one anyway, so you can race anywhere else too

IAHexcon:
That is what I figured.  I have got a phone call in to the guy I bought it from.  He also races trucks and modifiers at HMP so I'm certain he's not trying to pull a fast one. :)

Next question.....I have the VIN, the engine number, but where are the Seal number(s)?

VMS Motorsports:
Never had or looked at a sealed motor, so I can't tell you where the seal #'s are.
Hopefully one of the dealers or many people on the board with sealed motors will chime in...
