Engine seal question.
« on: November 15, 2013, 05:00:21 pm »
Hi guys,

I hate to start another topic on this. It seems like there is a lot of hard feelings when it comes to the topic of engine seals.

I normaly run 1200 open motors but have come across a pretty good deal on a 1250 sealed engine. The owner says it this used motor was new in 2011 and it has very little race time on it. It has BLUE ALUMINUM seals installed.

I am hearing that Inex may be doing more engine seal recal's on other seals by the end of next year like they are doing now. I dont know how true that is and my intent is not to start any rumors. Maybe someone has some insight on this?

Now the question at hand. Does this motor have the latest seals and will it  be legal for next year? Will it be legal for 2015? I only run 10-15 races a year.

When was the latest engine seal installed on these motors?

Thanks guys,

Eric

If  the seal is cylindrical in shape it has to be resealed prior to 2014 race season. If it is a flat suitcase seal it does not.
