The BEST bang for the buck is the Winter Nationals on asphalt in Florida. This takes place the week prior to Daytona, mid Feb.. It is 5 days of racing by division in the sunshine and warmth of Florida in Feb. Each day is a new day with a full race schedule, I know its a long way for you, but its the best winter event going.

Yep, giving Florida a look. We had family-based housing arranged last year, but couldn't bring ourselves to make the leap. Also, school. I hope Ted is still racing when he's out of h.s. so we can make more of these trips. This one might be a good chance to use up the motor & start fresh next season... ;o)

So which track, specifically, are the Winter Nationals?

Kathy,

You might want to re-think this October - April racing. Remember that where you live gets snow and ice. Not fun to tow through that stuff!
Just my thinking; But perhaps get Ted to do more of the work on the car in the off season. Give ol' Dad a break.  ;D

The Winter Nationals have been around for over 15 years. It has changed locations 4 times since I started attending 13 years ago. The last couple years have been at Auburndle Speedway. I believe it will return to Orlando Speedworld this year. Lots of fun and the best racing experience around for drivers of all skill levels. Racing is broken up by division and its a great learning curve.

Funny, Steve-o, funny!  I've lived in Minnesota for 30 years... so know a tiny little bit about winter driving. When we travelled to Illinois in March of 2011, we had to plan & re-plan between snow storms, and basically pray a lot. It worked out, somethow.... and lookit us now!
