Front or Rear for Longer Wheel Base
« on: February 18, 2013, 03:58:17 am »
When setting your wheel base what is the difference between having your rear end square and adjusting the front vs running the front end square and have the rear end adjusted.

How the car drives.
I would never recommend running the rear not square unless making minor adjustments for track conditions.

Wouldn't adjusting the rear allow the car to have rear steer and rotate better?

Jim is correct.  Always try to keep rear square.  Previous posts always recommend adjusting LF wheel to adjust wheel base slightly longer on left side.

Shouldn't the longer wheelbase be on the right side?

If thats what you want it to do. Depends on track type, surface, etc.
I feel that it is best to start off with a square rear end, and make any adjustments you have to for track conditions.
