The right way to attach the body to the car.
« on: December 11, 2012, 04:14:26 pm »
Hey guys,

Im new to Legend cars this year.

My used car I bought early in the year has many rivits securing the the main halves of the body to the frame. It has 3 in front of the doors, 2 or three behind the doors, a few under the rear fenders.

In talking to a friend of mine that I race with I found that he doesnt seem to have any rivits securing the main halves to the chassis.

Is there a right or wrong on this? Thoughts?

Thanks all,

Eric

We use rivets and the nerf bars bolts. If he isn't using rivets I would like to know how he is attaching it.

I believe Dzus fasteners are also legal.
A lot more expense than rivits though.

Dzus fasteners are often used on the fenders so that they can be removed and re-installed easily at the track, couldnt imagine putting that big of a hole in the chassis for the dzus spring

To use Dzus fasteners, I would think that you would need to use tabs welded to various places on the chassis to mount your springs.
