Hello guys,
Last weekend my battery in my raceiver's battery went dead halfway through the race. My fault, I kept a few with me and didnt do a good job keeping track of which was the fresher battery. It flashed all 888's across the display before it reset and then I was listening to channel 000.
Ive since read a little online on how often people replace the AAA batteries in these. Many guys will replace them after every race, besides taking them out of the unit when they are done for the day which is what I have been doing. Some have said that they perform the best on a fresh quality brand battery.
This leads me to think, has anyone ever made up a battery pack for one of these. Im pretty handy with a soldering iron. Im thinking of making a battery pack involving 2 or 3 AAA rechargable batteries (wired in Parallel) and having it connect to the unit. It would involve me soldering a few wires and connectors to the battey tabs and getting a battery holder. This would keep the raceiver at peek voltage longer than a single AAA would.
I cant be the only guy to ever think this (or overthink
). Anyone ever do this sort of thing?
Thanks,
Eric
