dirt with ar and beadlock
« on: July 11, 2012, 01:07:17 pm »
i have run asphalt lots and just a couple shows on dirt ever in my life. on asphalt i always ran heavy spring rates than i ever read anyone said to in there setups because i have a heavy car and im a big guy. the last time i ran dirt i think the springs were to soft to me.. but i dont know because how much of total car weight plays into spring weight choice. with me in the car it scales out to about 1400lbs give or take fuel load up or down. once i got the tire presssures dialed in the car felt good. so does a heavy car need more rate or is my spring choice based on driving style bc of the way i like to drive?

springs for dirt with ar and beadlock.

225 225
185 200

thinking of running

250 250          250 250
240 220 or    220 240

i like to run the bottom and keep it straight like asphalt any thoughts would be help

I like a neutral car, so my cross is usually 50-50.5%
52 left % and 52 rear %

Springs:
165   185
170  150
Swap the rear springs if you want a looser car.

Tire pressures, assuming you have a beadlock:
10   12
10   9

Camber:
+3  -5

The more caster split you have, the more the car will turn to the left, so that depends on your driving style.
I usually run a 4-5 degree split as I am more of a bottom feeder and keep the car pretty straight.

Very easy to drive, tune to your liking/driving style.
