Torque head bolts

How often should you re-torque you head bolts? My FJ manual says to torque them to 25 ftlbs. Is that correct? Thanks.

I was told by a reputable engine builder to initially torque cylinder head to 25 ft-lbs new , then back off and retorque to 27 ft-lbs final torue.  He did not mention to retorque any further after that.  Always torque in criss-cross pattern, starting towards center of head moving outward.

Hope this helps!  ;D

That is what the book says and it will give the patter to torque also. I never torque mine but that is because I always forget to do it....... :-[
