But with the size of the tread blocks on the AR's, I don't know Steve...

I won't claim to know anything about asphalt racing, but the AR's are alot closer to a slick than the Federals. I was trying to do a burnout on my driveway for testing purposes (was concerned I had an axle stripping a spline), and could barely get the rear to break loose. I swear I had the front tires off the ground until the Garage got a bit too close  :o

LOL! Wish someone would have taken some video. ;D
The AR's do look like a pretty good tire. Was thinking that the Federals would be better suited to pavement than the AR's because of tread design. For sure, they were never suited to dirt (Federals). The GoodYears slicks I ran on my mod were incredibly sticky after a few laps. Thought I would be smart and use an old one for a tire swing for the kids..... Let's just say bad idea. LOL!!!! 3 and 5 year olds dragging their butts on the ground.  Had to rethink that tire swing.  :-[ Was funny as hell though!!!!

Come on Jim, just acknowledge that Asphalt is better........we all know that.

I met a guy today that raced Karts back in the 60's and I asked him dirt or asphalt.....he replied...."Dirt is for planting not racing"!!!

"Dirt's for racin, asphalts for gettin there"

I guess we'll see July 17th what I think of asphalt...not sure if my first attempt should be on "the fastest 1/4 mile oval in the world", but hey, if I'm gonna try it, might as well go all the way

Not sure that we are ever going to have a tire that can cross over without at least cutting.  The AR would probably burn up pretty quickly on asphalt or the rubber would harden up too much to be used again on dirt.  That brings up plan B which would be less expensive tires so that people can buy both types without it being a big hit on the budget.  I know that our tires are in line with other entry level racing on tire price, but it is still enough to deter buying both for many people.  Maybe we can go to 3 wheeled cars to save money.  :)

In Nova Scotia we do not have a dirt track within 12+ hours.  In 4 hours I can get to 6-8 Asphalt tracks & 1 Road Course.
