Turn plates
« on: March 06, 2011, 11:53:31 am »
I want to check my caster but i don't have turn plates.  The directions said that there was a mark machined on the gauge but i've looked everywhere and can't find it.  So i want to know another way to check the 20 degrees.

Thanks
Dan

Most C/C gauges are angle cut to 20* on the end. When you turn the wheel in or out use that angle along the line of the running board and that will get you there.

You can use some cheap Dollar Store platic cutting boards and a bit of grease for turn plates.
Randy's idea is quick and easy. Should get you in the ball park.

Thanks Jim.  That is a pretty cool idea and looks easy to build.
