Gimpster,

Know what you mean. I get a lot of messages and emails with no specific information about set up and track info.
Spend a lot of time playing 20 questions. Then I get deep in thought over theory and pondering the problem.
I enjoy it though.

Dry slick dirt tracks are more of a pavement type set up.
I've got 4 people on my plate right now and can't really take on another til the boys go home.
Going to have to give him a set up somewhere in the middle to make changes at the track easier.

Sunday's race at Kentucky went well for both of us.  This was my daughter 's second race in her legend car. We had set some goals, finish and improve both went well.
This past sunday was the BEST my car has handled  since changing to the new tires last year.  A little set-up change goes a long way. Thanks goes to Dennis Knox

Got the motor fixed, still think the rings got burned up, a little smoke coming out of the exhaust. We'll see how it does Saturday to see if i can run the rest of the season out..Won't have as much power but we'll see what it can do.

I feel a bad night coming on.

I'm usually at the track by now, but the truck battery is dead. All the other cars and trucks are top mount, but the Tahoe is side mount...a watched battery never charges.  :-\

I suck...so glad July is over! This has been a shitty month.
Started 12th in the Main because I spun on turn one lap one of the heat race, was up to 7th by the first caution, then the handling went away.
Track was bad dry slick, think I burned the tires off, they glazed over at the first caution, we went back green and I had nothing, just spinning the wheels and going sideways down the straits. Lucked into a 9th place finish because a certain someone that is not on this forum, but has been discussed, dumped the leader in turn three on the last lap, taking them both out.

Started 11th and finished 3rd. Was actually really happy with the motor and the setup in the main. Had a slight push in the middle of 1-2 for the first 10 laps but after that the car was really fast. Just really hard to pass. Had a line of about 6-7 cars on the bottom and tried the high side and gained a couple spots moving to 3rd.

So had my third race on Saturday. Got caught behind someone in my heat so qualified 12/15. In the feature I was finally starting to get used to driving these cars. Was up to 8th and running down the lead pack and a caution came out. I still dont have the timing down on restarts so fell back to 13th. Was working my way back up. Got to tenth when someone from another track stopped in front of me for some debris in turn two. I had no where to go. I was launched in the air and hit the wall doing about 70. At least I have a week off to get everything fixed.

I think you will figure out which car is mine :)

Felt good to run down the leaders at least.

I always seem to get my wreck out of the way early on. We only have two dirt races a year in our state :)

There is a lot of dirt races across the river. I'm from Maryland and go up to PA when I race. They are a good bunch of guys to race with and some of the toughest dirt racing in the country. It is a two hour pull for me to the closest track but worth it.

May try some dirt after my friend gets his car up and running. I know Penn has a million dirt tracks.
