jack points on a legends???
« on: November 10, 2010, 08:46:02 am »
This may sound real novice, but I guess I am just that......

Just bought a legends, and I've got to get it up in the air to start looking around.....  Where are the jack points on this frame?   A typical race car is under the side, but the side boards on this are too low?  Is it just under the front and the rear frame.?

May sound like a stupid question, but just sitting at work thinking about what I need to do tonight.

one more question, I have a Mychron 3 digital RPM, CHT gauge that I used on my racing kart once upon a time, and could work with the Legends.  Are we able to use a digital gauage for this in the legends?  I looked through the rulebook and didn't see anything saying we couldn't, but I have never seen a picture of a car with one in it either.

Thanks again.

The bumpers are the easiest place to jack up the car from.  If your jack goes low or is you pull the rear bumper, you can also lift the back under one of the cross bars.  On the front (with the bumper off) I usually just put the jack under one of the frame horns.  With the running boards, you will not have much luck lifting from the sides.

I have a low profile racing jack from Harbor Freight. 3.5" tall and under $200.
I do all my lifting from the side

thanks for the info.... I skimmed the rule book and must have skipped right over that....Sorry.
I've also got a Harbor Freight jack, I'll check to see if it'll fit under the side.

Thanks again,
Nate
