Dirt Nationals...ROLL CALL!

Why is it $75 for asphalt pre-entry and $100 for dirt pre entry? They also say that they will pay $30,000 purse based on the car count for asphalt but mention nothing for dirt. Am I the only one that thinks this is wrong? I'm still going so I guess I can't say too much.

Asphalt is $75 for car entry, plus $75 for drivers pit pass, totaling $150.00
Dirt: $100 includes drivers pit pass, so even though the winner will probably get less than the last place asphalt car, we get to play for $50 less.

They'll never pay dirt anything. I think it would be great to have more cars show up at the Dirt Nationals than the Asphalt Nationals, but either way, we still won't matter...unless you buy a new Ray Evernham hermaphrodite

Jim,

I didn't see that extra $75 for the driver. I guess we are getting a deal. I talked with Darrel Krentz on Thursday and they have been doing a lot of tire testing at East Lincoln Speedway with the Federal tires. I would expect that we will run them next year. He said that they put two large grooves all the way around the tire and ran it backwards and it seemed to work. He also said that they ran a big variety of air pressure and it seemed that you had to run more than the BFG's. So all that said I would say that it will be Federals for dirt next year. I'm really looking forward to the Nationals because we always have a good time. I just know that we are not going to get rich at the pay window..... Seeya there.

Hopefully they grandfather in our BFG's for a transition year...my 2008's are getting softer as they get older, are at 58-60 on the durometer and still have the little nubs on them...probably good for another 3 years or so!
Either way, it will be nice to have a decision so we have one less thing to worry/gripe about.

Joel has never been there, and he doesn't frequent the board, so he has less knowledge of it than you do.
