Longacre camber/caster gauge question

(1/2) > >>

DMcGrew:
Im looking at the longacre camber gauge. I see there is one that has a magnetic adapter and then there's one without an adapter which I'd also need to get the Legends car adapter with. Question is will the magnetic one work?

Thanks

gramps05:
Yes it will work fine, also a lot quicker to install and move from one side of the car to the other side, just make sure you have no bures where the magnet makes contact.

DMcGrew:
Cool! Thanks for the quick reply.

Tom Cole:
I use a digital angle finder called a "Smart Tool" to set my caster and camber.  I get my camber figure off the back of the brake rotor, and I get my caster reading off the front flat section of the spindle.  You have to subtract the reading you get from 90° to get your setting.  But it is accurate to  a tenth of a degree.  Most of the adjustments move 2 tenths of a degree for each half of a turn on one end of the A arm adjustment rods.

Remember, always set caster, then camber, then toe.

DARK AGE 53:
Tom,
I've been thinking of getting one of the Smart Tools, how about doing a  "How To" with pics to show us your method?

Regards,
Al
