I guess I will get in on this forum.....asphalt racers are severely misrepresented here.  Maybe I can get Linley and Tateman to pipe up a little and atleast talk some smack!!  The one thing I am good at :P

We are racing at Kentucky Speedway this weekend (home of the second annual Legends Million...... ;) ).  It is forecasted to be 96 degrees and sunny!  Yay!
It appears that Tateman has taken a lead on the Semi-Pro points with myself in second and Linley in third (top 3 in Semi-Pro are LegendRaces.com members).  Earlier this year I heard Tateman say he wasen't ever going to go back to Kentucky?  I wish he wouldn't so I could gain some points on him!

Anyway that last time I was out there (and actually could run my car) I was fast, gained 5 spots to 5th in the first nine laps before the rains came and ruined my chances at my best finish of the year....errr...ever (my best right now is 5th but for some reason the official finish had me 9th  :-\ even though I went to tech and passed everything  :( ).  I am still fighting this.

So, I hope Linley makes it out and Tateman doesn't (jk) for a great double header race weekend.

I for one, plan to loose atleast 10lbs from sweat just unloading the car on Saturday!!

Dan almost got 5th, lost the spot on the last lap, finished 6th, almost had a clean sweep

Wow, so I learned starting spot makes a huge difference on a small tight track.
On Saturday with the borrowed engine I ended up starting on the pole after a 6 car invert!  I was passed by a pro driver fairly quickly then with two laps to go (on a 25 lap feature) I was pushed out of the way by an impatient Young Lion but still managed to finish in 3rd place!  My best finish ever!!!
On Sunday I made some slight changes to the car and qualified 5th (better) but they inverted 4 and I got slowed during the race by a near crash and then my car got way too tight with 10 laps to go and it was all I could do to keep Tatman behind me and finish.

I guess 300 races on a motor (yes that is what was confirmed by several people) isn't as important as driving ability and starting position!!  Maybe we'll just say starting position because I am only 13 races into my racing career!
Looks like I may not be too bad off for the rest of this season!!!

We'll see as we are racing at KilKare (Xenia, OH) and Columbus (OH) this weekend!!  Bigger tracks may make a bigger difference!!

Oh, and I do want to point out that I did beat both Linley and Tatman in both races this weekend (Linley didn't race Sunday....)!

WoooHooo!

Gerad,

Congratulations on the 3rd place finish!!!
As for Linley and Tatman, Perhaps that's why they don't post their results. LOL!!!
Look forward to your reports from the bigger tracks.

We have been a little busy.  Andee still leads the young lion dirt points standings with USLC. After she was tagged and her coupe totalled, she ran mine in 4 or 5 races. Her father picked up a coupe and a sedan. Coupe was a roller for a chassis replacement on her main car which is totalled. We threw the sedan together for a back-up car. She ran it this past weekend for the first time starting 16th in the feature and finishing 9th. Pretty much a follow the leader type race with no passing. She took to the sedan well with the identical set-up in it as I have in another sedan ran out of my shop.
Thursday night, since I have been feeling well enough, I will race my own coupe at Fargo ND for the first time. Really shouldn't because I am knee deep in motor rebuilds

Yay, I finally got Linley to talk some smack!!

We'll see Chris....last time we ran KilKare and Columbus I was beating you until I made the mistake that let you pass.  This time I ain't gonna make any mistakes.......at least I'm gonna try not to  :-\

I have my in-laws coming this weekend to both races...we'll see how that goes  ::)

Have you ever ran with a 3.58 at Columbus?  I was thinking about trying it this weekend.  Dustin Sword swears by it at Columbus.

We have 3.58 and 4.10 listed in our gear charts for Columbus.  ??? ??? ???

Gimpster,

Busy is good!!!
I checked Andee's points Monday morning... She's doing very well!!! I hope she wins the USLC/ INEX  points this season!
A respectable finish in an unfamiliar car.  ;)
Be sure to send her My Best!

Looking forward to seeing your results!
Glad to hear you are feeling better!!!

Do you hit the rev limiter?  I am thinking about trying it this weekend for the qualifier, not sure if it's the time to change things.

What gear do you run in?
A 4.10 in 5th is almost Identical to a 3.58 in 4th...want more off the corners...downshift!  ;D
