Update from Dirt Nationals
« on: October 17, 2009, 02:53:56 am »
I just wanted to drop a quick note on how it is going here.
Thursday was a wash, light rain all day. Some of us did find a nice indoor go cart track though. Friday the track was real bad, I'm not sure if I've ever even seen Path Valley this bad. Everyone made the features as the largest car count is 19 in semi-pro and one other class. A lot of people are breaking a lot of stuff and they keep saying the track will be great but they keep scraping it and it tears right up again. That's all I have the patience to type on my blackberry for now.

Heres what I heard from a friend who's there (not racing):
"Rain Rain and More Rain......

We did run today......  Brandon Schmidt took 2nd in the Young Lions Race of Champions.  The track is so bad all the guys are struggling.  Mike Crashed with Jeremy Meyer from Iowa in their heat race and we had to go to Mike's backup car for the Race of Champions.....Eric finished 5th or 6th in the Race of Champions.

The track is shaped like a backward Darlington....1 &2 are wide like Charter and 3&4 are very narrow.

Nothing good really happening to any of our guys.   We just got back and it is raining and there is a big system going through tonight so tomorrow does not look good either.   600 made lots of money this weekend because there is a lot of junk being made.

Think you may have made the smart move and stayed in Wis where it is cold......LOL   not much warmer here."

Did ya get that?!?!? I'm smart!  ;D
Never heard that one before...

I've got other things to spend my money on right now.

from Speed51

"We have had a few questions on car counts.   As far as what we have listed in the line-ups for the A Mains (there will not be any B Mains), the totals are below.   Note, there are a few drivers that either wrecked yesterday or have chosen to not show up to race today.

Young Lions - 12 Cars
Semi-Pro - 19 Cars
Pro - 19 Cars
Masters - 16 Cars "

Thats pretty sad for a "National" event
